How to get off medications
When Joe was told that would need medication for the rest of his life, it was a shocking wake up call.
At 60, Joe (name changed for privacy) weighed over 210 lb and was diagnosed with diabetes, dangerously high blood pressure and cholesterol. He suffered with chronic pain and was at risk of cardiovascular disease. Joe was deeply unhappy.
Joe was determined that he would reclaim his quality of life, and avoid becoming dependent on medications for the rest of his life.
While medication is often prescribed to treat the symptoms of chronic conditions, it usually does not resolve the underlying causes. Large scale clinical studies show that nourishing food, movement and rest can put chronic diseases into remission.
Equipped with the knowledge to make better choices for his health, Joe began his journey to wellness.
In less than one year, Joe was transformed. His blood sugar and cholesterol levels were back in the normal range. His chronic pain and IBS had disappeared. He lost over 80 pounds, and 8 inches from his waist measurements – he was back to 30” pants! Best of all, he could stop daily medications.
Joe felt great about life again.
When Joe faced another health challenge, he was able to tackle it with Lifestyle Medical’s support. In 2013, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer covering a 15% surface-area. In January 2015, it was down to 10%. By December of 2016, Joe was cancer-free – without surgery.
At 71, Joe is feeling better than ever.
