Mindfulness Music
The practice of mindfulness music can put an end to our nonstop and often negative mental chatter and offer us an opportunity to inhabit the present moment more fully and meaningfully. Music can be a wonderful way to reduce your stress and reconnect with your body and your breath. This mindfulness practice can be practiced at any time and anywhere.

It’s important to remember that each individual’s preference is unique. Begin by finding a comfortable position. You can choose to sit in a supported chair or choose to sit on the floor with a cushion. When you have done so, close your eyes, and take a moment to breathe and ground yourself. Inhale gently through your nose, and exhale deeply through your mouth. Notice your body, and tune into how it feels. Inhale – and exhale.
Once the music begins, let yourself be aware of anything you notice, without any judgment. Notice the pace of the music, the sounds of the different instruments, or shifts in volume. Notice if you’re aware of a certain part of your body as you listen. Notice any thoughts or feelings that come up. Let any thoughts just pass through your awareness, and then gently bring yourself back to the sounds of the music.
